Bus Trip from Toronto

Saturday May 2nd 2015  9am - 4pm

Featuring an Earthship Tour in Norfolk County

Tour the open concept Earthship home of Connie and Dave.  Their home is nearly finished.  With all of the systems in place, it is entirely off the grid, and keeps a nearly constant temperature of 71 degrees year round.  The home uses passive thermal heating and cooling, solar and wind electricity and on site water collection and treatment.  Their home also boasts a very successful grey water planter system with a nearly 9 foot tomato plant and an over 7 foot banana plant!  This couple has spent years building their home almost entirely on their own and will be happy to answer all of your building and troubleshooting questions.  They also run a business building wind turbines and will be speaking to us about this venture as well.

Beer Brew Farm Tour and Sampling

We will visit Ramblin' Road Brewery Farm where small batches of beer are brewed using fresh farmed and local malted barley and hops.

Some Live Music and Raffle Prizes

A local professional musicain duo will entertain us with accoustic covers and we will raffle off some great prizes from our sponsors on the bus ride.

$40 Donation per ticket.

Donations will be used for building materials and construction of the Sustainability Education Centre.
